Sau những trận bom của KQ Anh-Mỹ trút xuống Dresden tháng 2-3 năm 1945, dù nhà cửa đổ nát nhưng người ta đã sơ tán kịp nhiều bộ sưu tập quý. Một bản thảo của nhà soạn nhạc Ý thế kỷ 18 của thời đại Baroque,  Tomaso Albinoni người Venise, đã được tìm thấy ở thư viện bang Saxon sau khi kết thúc Thế chiến II. Theo người sưu tầm và nhà viết tiểu sử Albinoni là Remo Glazotto, đó là một phần của một bản sonate nhà thờ giọng sol thứ. Cùng với nhà âm nhạc học Muska Mangano, năm 1956 Glazotto cho ra mắt "Adagio in G Minor for Strings and Organ, on Two Thematic Ideas and on a Figured Bass by Tomaso Albinoni", một tác phẩm neo-baroque. Bản thảo gốc của Albinoni thì Glazotto chẳng bao giờ xuất bản. Còn trong thư viện bang Saxon cũng không tìm thấy bản ghi chính thức nào. Tuy vậy nó đã được các nhà chuyên môn và công chúng chấp nhận, được sử dụng rộng rãi làm nền cho nhiều bộ phim, ví dụ như phim của nhà điện ảnh Mỹ Orson Welles năm 1962 chuyển thể tác phẩm "Vụ án" của Franz Kafka.
